Mountain Man Rendezvous

MODERN MOUNTAIN MAN RENDEZVOUS (REENACTMENTS AKA LARPING) ARE BASED ON THE MID 1800’S TRADITION OF ACTUAL MOUNTAIN MAN RENDEZVOUS WHEREIN EVERY SPRING FUR TRAPPERS WOULD COME OUT OF THE MOUNTAINS WHERE THEY FROZE IN ISOLATION FOR MONTHS ON END TO SELL FURS, REPROVISION, TRADE, PARTY, GET NEWS, FIGHT, SLEEP, PARTY SOME MORE, SPEED DATE, MAKE SEX, TALK TO OTHER LIVING HUMANS, GET NAKED AND PARTY. THESE RENDEZVOUSΒ  WERE HUGE ROWDY AFFAIRS ATTENDED BY EVERYBODY IN THE AREA INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO TRAPPERS, HUNTERS, indigenous PEOPLES, WIVES, PIONEERS, COWBOYS, EXPLORERS, LOCAL MILITARY, BANDITS, CON ARTISTS, WRITERS, GOLD RUSHERS, ETC.

IN 2020 THE SAME THING HAPPENS BUT NOW RENDEZVOUS LARPERS DRIVE THEIR CARS AND CHANGE INTO PERIOD CORRECT COSTUMES IN THE PARKING LOT BEFORE ENTERING THE SCENE TO TRADE/SHOP, LEARN SKILLS, VISIT WITH OLD FREINDS; PARTICIPATE IN ARCHERY, SHOOTING AND OTHER MARKSMEN ACTIVITIES, AND BUY OLD TIMEY ROOT BEERS. THE MORE DEDICATED AND EXPERIENCED STAY FOR THE WHOLE WEEKEND AND SLEEP IN TIN TEEPEES. *SHOT ON LOCATION AT THE FORT BRIDGER RENDEZVOUS IN NORTH CENTRAL WYOMING.
